The latest series of Super Sentai is around its 30th episode now, and my impression of the series thus far is quite highly. Our band of outer space pirates are on a quest for the greatest treasure in the universe, while picking up Ranger Keys along the way. The ranger Keys allow them to transform into any of the 35 Sentai series rangers (making for tons of fan service.) Now all your favourite squads can comingle with each other in beautiful Sentai harmony. Yay.
So far in the series, we’ve seen appearances from former cast members of SPD, Gingaman, Hurricaneger, and even Jetman. Not to mention the two movies that have been released that feature TONS of guests. This series is shaping up to be one of my favourite Super Sentai’s yet; it’s really perfect and getting tons of praise in Japan. The cast for this series are a really good bunch of characters that really complete each other. Even when they introduced the special “Silver Ranger,” Ikari Gai, he turned out to be a great addition from the start! (Although I must say, I’m not a fan of the design of Gold Mode.) I’m really looking forward to how this show will progress and wrap up as I already make my predictions to what will happen to certain characters and events. This show is defiantly a highlight in the Sentai Universe.
